Tom Harper’s first career wasn’t sales. It was land management with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service — years spent working the kind of ground most brokers only see through a windshield. When he retired to Jackson County, the county he’s now called home for 36 years, the land knowledge stayed.
He earned his real estate license in 1992 and spent two years as a salesman under brokers in Ocean Springs, learning the trade the traditional way. In 1994 he took his broker’s license and hung his own sign: Vancleave Real Estate Company.
Three decades on, the model hasn’t changed — one broker, one client at a time, selling homes and land throughout the Gulf Coast area.
